Internship Program
Our Internship Program offers students a platform to apply classroom theory to client work, with internal weekly supervision and monthly group sessions provided. At Lifebridge psychotherapy, interns experience a balance of independence and support within a virtual setting, fostering growth and skill development within a supportive team environment.
Internship Requirements:
- Pursuing or nearing completion of the BREM program, or holding Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in Psychotherapy or Social Work from a recognized North American institution
- Possessing qualifying status with CRPO or OCSWSSW, along with professional liability insurance
- Vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check
- Demonstrating experience, passion, training, or clinical skill in perinatal psychotherapy and women’s wellness, or being willing to undergo relevant training before receiving referrals
- Inclusivity and diversity training, as well as risk assessment and crisis intervention training, are highly valued
- Implementing a client-centered, trauma-informed approach to care while being culturally competent
- Exhibiting clear communication, sound judgment, and empathetic ability to establish therapeutic relationships
- Ability to conduct group sessions and workshops weekly.
- Demonstrating effective verbal and written communication with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
- Possessing strong computer literacy, including proficiency in client care systems, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, internet, email, and social media
- Committing to upholding professionalism and ethical standards, including experience in remote work
- Availability during evenings and weekends is beneficial
- Access to a laptop for web-based video conferencing and a dedicated workspace is necessary.
Your Role as an Intern at LBP:
- Provide consultation and counseling for clients with diverse mental health and wellness-related concerns under supervision
- Offer evidence-based, high-quality care to those in our community
- Keep client records according to practice standards
- Participate in team meetings and training
- Perform administrative duties and indirect client work as required
- Participate in ongoing professional development and case consultation
- Participate in weekly Peer Supervisions
- Build your caseload through networking and community building
- Complete billing and invoicing
